Lewis Beal
Lewis Beal is a multidisciplinary artist with an interest for human behavior and the phenomena
that occur inside and outside our lives. He passed his art degree in 2023 at l’école supérieure d’arts et
média de Caen (ésam), in the modular studio departement. Using his background in engineering,
lewis uses self made electronic circuits and devices in his installations to bring back these
often forgotten phenomena back into the spotlight.
His works often plunge into the dark, making clever use of light and sound to immerse the public into
the thought provoking projects. He has dwelved with the concept of chain reactions, questioning the value
of human choice, as well as the importance of every act and its repercussions. But has now been working
on the phenomena of cycles, exploring their influence in our lives, nature and society through a
collection of artworks which are still ongoing. In parallel he has also found an interest in creating fully
functionnal electric circuits in three dimentions pushing his understanding of the medium to a new level.
