Lewis Beal
Lewis Beal is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of engineering and play.
He graduated from l'École Supérieure d'Art et Média de Caen (ésam) in 2023, before completing
the ArtScience Master's at KABK, The Hague, in 2026. Where his research explored playfulness as
a driving force in the creative process. Beal builds his own circuits to reveal physical phenomena
we usually overlook and transforms them into playful, immersive experiences, treating every
technical challenge as a game to be worked through. His latest installation immerses viewers in
illuminated streams of water that appear to suspend and reverse gravity, creating a space where
meaning emerges through slowness, ambiguity, and wonder rather than explanation.
